Hail Damage Repair - PDR-ONE

Dents, don’t we all hate them? They not only make the car look ugly but decrease its value too. Many people are reluctant to get these dents fixed, as we, all know visit to body shops can be very expensive, but with the new method, which is known as Paintless Dent Removal it, costs 2/3 less than the conventional method there is no need to drive a car with a scar.

It is a process by which minor dings and dents are removed by using special tools without ruining the paint surface. This method requires tools specially designed for it. There are two ways that a dent can be repaired through the paintless method:

Experts get to the back of the dent or any given panel for that matter, pressure is applied with special metal rods till the time dent is flattened again.

If the access behind the panel is difficult or limited then the dent can be repaired using special glue. The hot glue is applied to a plastic tab, which is then fixed to the top of the dent, once the glue cools down; it sticks to the tab and the panel that needs to be fixed. The plastic tab is then pulled outward to fix the dent, the method is a lot less accurate and it mostly requires the pulled portions of the dents to be tapped down.

Traditional method takes a lot of work; paint has to be grinded off, apply the body filler, then the body filler is reshaped, then the paint, coat and then comes the wet sand and buff. With so much work, no wonder the body shops charge so much.

The aim here is not to bash the older method, they command respect, but the point is that paintless dent removal can be a great method given the right conditions. If you paint is defected to an extent that it cannot be fixed with wet sand and buff then paying a visit to a body shop is the way to go.

Traditional body shops take three to five days for small repairs; most paintless dent removal jobs only take few hours, sometimes even less than an hour. Technicians are mostly fully mobile, so repairs can take place even at your doorstep while you are looking into other important matters. One other best thing about this method is you will not have to rent a car as the job does not take too long, as result, you will be able to save more money.
